A : The difference between assisted living and nursing homes is the level of healthcare and medical monitoring required. Nursing home residents often have complex health conditions that require 24/7 monitoring and care. Assisted living residents are usually more independent and only require minimal care, such as housekeeping and help with mobility issues. Nursing homes feel more like hospitals while assisted living centers feel more like upscale apartment communities.
